Post Season Banquet on December 13

We will be having a Football/Cheerleading Banquet to celebrate the accomplishment of this past season. We will start eating at 1 o'clock in the HS. Family is invited for meal and all are invited for awards ceremony following at 2pm. Each player/cheerleader has been asked to bring a side, salad, or dessert. They should have received a list. The main entree will be paid for by the booster club from Maggie Maes. I hope to see you all there.

Thanks

Coach Baldwin

Great Year!!

Valle Catholic executed well all day and beat Miller 42-6. Congrats Cards on a great season! I know there was a ton of hard work put in on the part of so many to make it happen. It was a season filled with turbulence right from the start. Everyone involved fought and persevered. People were asked to step into new roles as our injury toll added up and they did.

Miller won 10 games for the 2nd consecutive year which had never been done. The Seniors won over 30 games in their career. Back-to-back SRVC Champions. Regional and Sectional victories. Final ranking of 7th in the MoSports power poll. Post season awards to follow.

Thriller in Thayer!

What a great HS football game!! Thanks to all that made the trip down to Thayer on a Monday night. The final was Miller 35 Thayer 34 in double OT. Both teams played their hardest and the Cardinals pulled it out. Great effort by so many players to get that win. Justin Jack threw for 292 yards with 3 TDs and two 2-point conversions. Tyler Hinshaw had 11 catches for 114 yards and a TD along with an interception defensively. Daniel Parscal scored two rushing TDs. Dustin Cates had his first receiving TD and two huge catches on the drive that tied the game.

Defensive leaders were Daniel Parscal 16 tackles, Cates 12, Zach Eaton 12, and Derek Jack 11.

This was a total team effort and we are so proud of the win! Great job Cardinals.

Miller will play the 12-0 Valle Catholic Warriors on Saturday November 14.

Cardinals Top Jasper 36-12 in Regional

Miller beat Jasper on Wednesday Nov 4. The Cardinals exploded for 500 yards of offense. Justin Jack threw for 282 yards and 3 TDS and Daniel Parscal rushed for 222 yards and two TDS. The defense was led by Luke Nunez who had 11 tackles, two for loss, and a blocked kick. Nunez also caught a career high 3 TD passes in the game. Miller plays Thayer on Monday November 9, 2009. Miller "Gets" to go back to Thayer!!

Monday, November 2, 2009

Play-Offs Start Wednesday 10-4

The Miller Cardinal Football Team will try and make a deep play-off run starting on Wednesday November 4, 2010 in Jasper, Missouri. Miller will travel to Jasper for a 7pm kickoff. Both teams are 8-2. Miller won the regular season contest 33-20. The winner will play the winner of Thayer and Lockwood on Monday November 9.

SRVC Conference Champions!

The Miller Cardinals finished their season last Thursday at home against Marioville in a driving rain storm. The Cardinals defeated the Comets 35-0 to close out their regular season at 8-2.
Tyler Hinshaw scored 3 TDs in the second half, 2 on receptions from Justin Jack. Daniel Parscall and Darin Clark both had over 100 yards and a TD rushing as well. The Miller defense was stingy allowing only 104 yards and 23 through the first 3 quarters.

Miller tied Greenfield at 6-1 to become the SRVC Conference Co-Champion.

Field House Under Construction

It's an exciting time to be a Miller Cardinal. Football Camp is less than a week away and the Cardinal Field House is getting some work done to it. We are still a ways away from completion but we hope to have outer walls, bathrooms, heat, air, and a ceiling completed by the time two-a-day practices start on August 10.

We are still seeking funds to complete the project. We have a started an account for the field house. Any possible donors can contact Coach Baldwin or send a check to the High SChool marked "Football" on the envelope. This facility will meet the needs of Cardinal Football Players for years to come. GO Cardinals!

FOOTBALL CAMP June 1-5

Our first football camp will take place on June 1-5 at Miller High School. We will start at 6 and end at 830. We need as much attendance as possible. This is a great learning time for us all to get to know each other as well as our new schemes. Hope to see ya there!

Coach Baldwin

Summer Weights start June 1st

Summer weights and condidtioning will start June 1, 2009. We will go monday through thursday at 7am. Be sure and sign up in the office ASAP! Our mornings will include strength training, speed and agility training, and football based activities mixed in.

That gives us atleast 32 open days for the weight room. It will open some Fridays as well for players that miss and want to make a day up or just get in extra work. The goal is to get 26 days of work in over the summer for each player.

Players will always be out by 830 or 9am if they have a job to get to. I am looking forward to a great summer and everyone is ready to make a committment to get better!

OPEN FIELD April 18th

Our first "open field" ended up more like an open gym as the weather was poor. 30 players showed up to learn football on a Saturday in March. This is valuable learning time for players. On April 18th we will be having another "open field". This will be another opportunity for players to pick up our offensive and defensive schemes. Lineman begin at 7:55 (be there about 7:30). Specialty should be there about 9:30. (On the field by 9:50)

Sunday, March 22, 2009

Open Field this Saturday March 28

With a new coach comes new terminology, new plays, and an adjustment period. While the primary reason for off season work-outs is to become faster and stronger as a team, it is important that have good attendance to become more familiar with the new system. We will meet in the field house and work out on the field.

Lineman will work at 8-10am (be there by 7:30)

Specialty will work out from 10-noon.

See ya there!

Coach Baldwin

2009 Football T's and Shorts

We have a new design of Miller football T's and shorts. The shorts will have a 9' inseam and will be white or red. The T will be gray. We will have examples on Saturday of both of them and take orders and get sizes. The cost will be $18-20 for the pair.

Grade Check Sheets

It is important that we are doing our best on a daily basis to get a good education and stay on top of our school work. Players need to get a grade check sheet (from coach Stokes) and have their teachers write their grade in and initial it. Completed grade sheets need to brought to one of the "spring open field" days. Eligibility for football will be determined on how well you perform in the classroom this spring.
